PRE-ARR. chacha grew up on the island of sharlayan. her mother, a member of the circle of knowing, was frequently in eorzea. as a result, chacha had a lonely childhood with the exception of her tutors and caretakers. when her mother died in the calamity, chacha was sent to eorzea to be tutored in thaumaturgy by papalymo. she awakened to the echo on the boat ride there. it's during this time that she'd slowly come to meet all the members of her travelling party and form bonds with the scions.ARR. chacha had an obsession with the idea of a legacy. she strived to be like her mother both in word and deed. she would help fell primals with help of her warrior of light companions. she thrived more than ever during this period, soaking in her rapidly-growing notoriety and bonds with her comrades.HW. the betrayal in ul'dah left chacha feeling more closed off than before. for someone who had grown up romanticizing ishgardian culture, actually arriving in the city dispersed any rose-tinted ideas she might have about it. the end of heavensward was a turning point for chacha— papalymo's death opened up fresh wounds in chacha's grieving heart. it was beginning of a downward spiral.
SB. chacha is very withdrawn during this time. while her comrades are liberating ala mhigo and doma, she's becoming increasingly jaded in her worldview. this is where chacha's experimentation with black magic begins.ShB. by the time she arrives in the first, chacha is fully convinced the world is beyond saving. still, she fulfills her duties as a hero without complaint, though her attitude is more cold and snappy. emet-selch recognizes chacha's grief as a weakness to exploit. the two eventually find companionship in one another and develop a codependency seeped in misanthropy. chacha is horrified when emet betrays the scions and, incensed by her perceived weakness, he painfully cuts her out of his plans. shadowbringers ends with her feeling lost and adrift in her overwhelming sadness.EW. chacha is struggling between her misanthropy and the reality of the immense suffering around her caused by the final days. it isn't until she comes face to face with venat and is compelled to recount her adventure that she begins to understand what it means to be the Wayfarer— to love the journey over the destination.

Intense is the best way to describe Chacha; she has immense passion in her work, her relationships, and her goals. It has the potential to be overwhelming for a lot of people.
Nosey— Chacha has a hard time understanding that not everyone is an open book. She will often ask prying questions, not realizing that she’s being a pest.
Hardworking— despite her quirks, no one ever doubts Chacha’s drive to get things done. She’s determined and sees things through to the end.
Self-critical— though she keeps it buried, Chacha is incredibly hard on herself. It’s one of the reasons she pushes herself so far beyond her limits.
Energetic— in the beginning of her story, Chacha can always be seen bouncing from one idea to the next, seemingly with an unlimited capacity for creativity. she becomes more curmudgeonly later on in her story as she matures.

chacha is in a 'light party' of warriors of light. this is elaborated on in my relationships section. the storybeats of the game are divided up between them and thus might not always align with canon.
Chacha would be described as a ‘Chuunibyou’— she has grandiose delusions (such as claiming to be possessed by the ‘dark muses’), is melodramatic, and a huge know-it-all. Frankly, this behavior grates on a lot of people’s nerves. She’s grown a lot more mature in her time as a Warrior of Light, but she still has a lot of these traits.
Chacha is secretly a novelist with a focus on romance. She publishes a series under the pen name Petal LaBloom. In her works of fiction, she mostly focuses on drama and romance in Ishgard. Her most popular comic is called "Meet Me In Halone's Halls.”
She has a Poro Roggo assistant who fetches things for her when asked.

chacha's mother, member of the circle of knowing, close colleague of papalymo and louisoix. she was gone far more often than she was there, but the relationship she did cultivate with chacha was very loving. over the course of her journey, chacha went from putting chaco on a pedestal, to resenting her sacrifice, to finally being able to see her mother as the complicated figure she was.
papalymo was a stern but always fair mentor to chacha. if it weren't for him, chacha would have succumbed to her grief completely in the wake her mother's death. for the time they spent together, he was very much her guiding star. his death kicked off the very worst of her changes in her journey.
they met through chance while chacha was hosting a book club out of the waking sands— and since then chacha and kavi have been virtually inseparable. their relationship waxes and wanes in terms of closeness and affection throughout their time together, but they no less see one another as siblings. they manage to patch their relationship up more by endwalker.
yun-ae's lack of outward emotion is a direct contrast to chacha's boisterous attitude, especially in the beginning of their story. this can be a source of frustration for chacha, but mostly she finds yun-ae's devotion and dependability very admirable. the two trust each other implicitly— especially in battle.
when these two are causing trouble, nothing on the entirety of the star can stop them. though seemingly alike in mannerism, t'astra's heroism and willingness to help others is a point of insecurity for chacha. she sees herself always in t'astra's shadow, undeserving to stand truly side-by-side with someone so brave.
